RVF (Rostropovich-Vishnevskaya Foundation) is a global development organization that promotes the health and wellbeing of children in need through partnerships that create sustainable, transformational public health programs.
RVF creates partnerships to provide children residing in low- and middle-countries with sustainable access to WHO-recommended vaccines and safe drinking water. RVF also assesses the impact of vaccines on disease burden.
RVF is a non-political and non-partisan organization.
To date, over 20 million children and young adults have been saved from illness, suffering and even death through the efforts of the RVF. RVF works and has worked in Armenia, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Georgia, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and the West Bank and Gaza.
Founded in 1991 by Maestro Rostropovich, the world-renowned Russian cellist, and his wife, the soprano Galina Vishnevskaya, the RVF is a publicly-supported non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in Washington , D.C.
